Aces return to pool

The Aces are back in the pool racing.

On Oct. 6 eight members of the Aces travelled to Simcoe to compete in the Norfolk County Fair meet. The Aces came home with almost all first-place finishes.

Trevor Mains won all five of his events taking off a total of 15.5 sec in those events. Others winning all their events included Brooke Davidson, Kristopher Sanders, Zachary Sanders and Vicky Whiteside.

Erica Buehlow won three events and was third in one and fourth in the other. Elise Funk won the 50 br, was third in three events and fourth in the other. Dylan Riddell won 50 bk and 100 fr and was second in the three other events.

This past weekend the Aces competed against St. Thomas in the first Aqua 7 event of the season. This was the first meet that the new swimmers to the team participated in and many did a great job for their first meet.

James Ball, 11, finished fifth in all four of the races.

Annissa Mathaner, 11, was eighth in fr and bk, and Quinn Pauli, 10, was fourth in 50 fr, fifth in bk and fly and sixth in br.

Gavin Tessier, 13, was second in bk and third in br and fr.

Kaitlyn Ulmer, 9, was sixth in fr and bk and eighth in br.

Damon Woolvett, 8, was first in back, third in fr and fly and fourth in br, while sister Madeline was seventh in back, ninth in fr and tenth in br and fly.

Twin Rachel Woolvett was seventh in fr. Alex Buehlow, Jaime Doucet, and Andrew Warr had a clean sweep of the events winning all five. Taking off the most time was Josh Cober, 10, and Caitlyn Armstrong, 5. Both swimmers dropped over 40 sec in four or five events.

Next in action are the competitive swimmers later this month at Brock University.
