Aces face Ancaster Alligators

The Aces started February off with a great Aqua 7 meet against the Ancaster Alligators. The Aces won the meet in both boys and girls categories.

Nicholas Bailey, Grace Cameron, and Aidan Tessier all recorded 100 per cent best times.

While Katie Cameron took off the most time for the team, Rachel Woolvett broke the 100 IM record for eight and under girls. Those who won each of their events included Alex Buehlow, Jacob Isaac, and Logan Monnikendam.

Those winning three out of four races were Grace Cameron, Celine Funk, Ally Govier, Caleb Isaac, Meghan Mackie, and Vicky Whiteside.

Swimmers winning at least two races were: Erica Buehlow, Jaime Doucet, Blythe Mackie, Kristopher Sanders, Zachary Sanders, and Dylan Riddell.

The following swimmers all won at least one swim: Derek Govier, Gavin Tessier, Kaitlyn Ulmer, and Rachel Woolvett.

Several members of the Aces competed at the Western Region swimming championships in London on the weekend.

Blythe Mackie set the lone club record in the 200 fly while picking up a third place medal. Alex Buehlow came home with five medals and four provincial qualifying times, and three Age Group National times. He won the 100 and 200 br, second in 200 bk and third in 50 fr and 100 bk.

Erica Buehlow won a bronze medal in the 1500 fr.

Ally Govier qualified for the East Coast Swimming Championships later this month in PEI, with her best finish a 10th in 800 fr.

Elise Funk finished 21st in both 100 and 200 br, Lindsay Gutoskie was 13th in 200 fr, Jacob Isaac was 10th in 50 fly and Meghan Mackie was ninth in 800 fr.

Dylan Riddel was 18th in 100 bk, Kris Sanders was fourth in 100 br and fifth in 200 br, and seventh in 200 Im.

Zachary Sanders struck bronze in the 100 br, Mary Tilford was eighth in 200 bk and seventh in 100 bk, and, rounding out the team was Vicky Whiteside with a 17th in 400 IM.
