Aces take third place in Tillsonburg meet

The Aces along with the Speed Sharks had a great meet in Tillsonburg over the weekend. Fifteen members of the Aces competed in the three-day event helping the team to a third place overall finish out of 10 teams. Alex Buehlow won two golds and one silver medal while in the final preparations to get ready for Ontario Provincials champs. Alex and sister Erica have been working hard over the past year to earn a spot on the Canada Games team this summer. This weekend in Ottawa the pair will compete to earn their spot. Erica swam to a gold, three silver, and two bronze medals. Celine Funk won a fourth place in the 200 br, Elise Funk was fourth in 200 br and fifth in 100 fly. Lindsay Gutoskie earned a couple of fourths in 200 bk and 400 fr. Sam Hesch, who just turned 13, had a great meet winning two fourths, four fifths, and a seventh and eighth, taking off over 30 seconds in eight swims.

Blythe Mackie struck gold in the 100 fly, Meghan Mackie won gold in both the 200 fly and 100 fly, and bronze in the 200 bk.

Anissa Malthaner, who also just turned 13, finished sixth in the 50 fly, also taking off over 30 seconds in six swims.

Dylan Riddell won two gold, one silver and one bronze, Kristopher Sanders was golden twice, and bronze once. Zachary Sanders won four gold medals, and two silver medals. Taffin Sekulin won a silver in 200 fly, Mary Tilford won silver in the 50 bk, and rounding out the team was Katilyn Ulmer, 11th in 50 fr.
